MGC Civil - The Green, Gnangara
MGC Civil required the services of the Pumps United team to help them with works for the new retirement village development at Lakelands County Club, Gnangara WA
Pumps United were assigned the Dewatering and Water Treatment scope of works for this project which required the installation of a wellpoint dewatering system in two applications. Approx. 600m of well points were installed to allow for the installation of initial sewer works and a deeper system designed to lower the water level to 8.5m below ground level (6m head as the water table sat at 2m below ground level) to accommodate the installation of the pump station. Significant earthworks are anticipated on this project with challenges involving the management and treatment of the groundwater extracted.
How Pumps United Helped
Pumps United provided a water treatment system for this project which addressed the low pH readings and Acid Sulfate Soil contaminants being recorded. The pH correction successfully amended the pH to within acceptable discharge levels which was vital for compliance to environmental legislative requirements.
The engagement of Pumps United early on this project has seen the successful dewatering of the site leaving it completely dry in preparation for excavation works and the extracted ground water being treated in a safe and environmentally compliant manner. It has been a great partnership that has allowed MGC Civil to complete stage one of this project and prepared to commence stage two.
